Hey Brian.

The difference are in the crossover ( aluminium-metalized polypropylene capacitors ) and outside finish.

I did not hear the difference.
At the moment i have the S9800 at home. Here in the neighbourhood were two demo's. The first listening impressions were amazing. I never heard this before. I heard things and details on my cd s which i never heard before. So the S9800 SE is not an issue. I heard it is 3000 Euro more expensive then the S9800. If you look at the schemas there are just a few different parts in the Xover. I think you cab change it yourself. We will ask Giskard his opinion.

Hi,

- I'd suggest being very sceptical of the "new" C4 value ( 1 uF instead of 47uF ) that's shown in the SEs' HF circuit ( unless you need to believe that JBL decided it was now a better idea to create a very High Q "impedance equalizer" centered at 6500 hz rather than the original Low Q impedance equalizer centered at @ 1326 hz ).
- ie; It's not healthy to believe that everything you read ( published by Harman ) is indeed technically accurate ( and/or properly proof-read ) .

I think i let it in the original design. These speaker sound so good. Sometimes i wonder what i am doing!!!!:bouncy::applaud:

It's not healthy to believe that everything you read ( published by Harman ) is indeed technically accurate ( and/or properly proof-read )A problem that surfaces frequently enough to make skeptics of us all.

I'd personally stick with the original based on various conversations in the past. But whatever you guys want to do is your business.

Its a PDF file - so you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader (or something similar) on your system to read such files ...

Acrobat Reader for Windows is a free download from Adobe - http://www.adobe.com/
