What is the model of these woofers?

They seem like the E140 (the tree dents on the back magnet, the blue sticker) but the cone is not corrugated. Are those Alnico magnets? (dont think so)

Can anyone identify it? Is it perhaps a reconed E140?

Anyway, is it a decent woofer?

Looks like E145-8 to me.

Magnet is ferrite....

Ceramic magnets, could be an E130 or an E140 reconed with a D130 kit? Just a guess on my part but the cones look like the ones on my D130's.

Thats my guess, look like an E 130 cone with a paper dustcap.

I have found good things about the E145. How good is the E140/D130? I bought them anyway, they will probably be doing 50-160/200. I hope they turn to be ok. I appreciate all the comments.

If the driver is in good shape, what quality can I expect from it?

The E145 has (on some pics) the connection terminals on top of one of the chassis arms extending from the magnet to the rim. The JBL specsheets show all connectors on the arm.

I it is the E130 and/or D130 cone, how high can they go? If they can go high enough, I might reconsider my project and use them as mids up to where the ribbon takes off.

If you look close you will see the added trim ring on the outside rim making it a stock E145-8

Although fuzzy....It says E145-8 on the label.

Maron, you have eagle eyes. I opened the pic with photoshop and aplied sharpening at different radius, I couldnt read it, but yes, I thought it seems more as 145 as anything else.

Are there response curves of the 145 around?

Geez, do they come any flatter below 1 kHz? :bouncy:

Yes, thats pretty flat below 1K but what about the peak just after that?:biting:

From what I have seen, they are used up to 600Hz normally. Is a notch filter used to control the peak? Does anyone know what was the LP order from the original design?

Original design of what? That peak is not an unusual feature. -grumpy

I had the Everest in mind. "John W", as I found here, uses them 3rd order @ 800 (with the peak, at 1600 we would have only -10dB). Perhaps the everest was crrossed lower. Do you mean that the peak was not corrected and nobody noticed?

The tuning options were a bit lower in Fc, I believe. -grumpy
