I am sure i am one of the people here with some of the least amount of impressive gear, but im happy for now or at least until i can afford the next piece, I am using a pair of L100ts for mains L80t3s for side surrounds L112s for front and rear center channels.a 2242h for a sub, a pair of mission 781 series bookshelfs for bedroom speakers, driven by a Altec 9440A amp and sony da5es receiver. dvd player, tv, and assorted other audio video items complete the package:p

That would be twelve 15" woofers. Some will be 400w JBL 2225's, and the others will be Altec 515's (probably with the newer G-series cones). Either eight JBL's and four 515's, or four JBL's and eight 515's. Whichever sounds better. I'm stocking up on drivers right now. And for the moment, a pair of 15 cell Altec 1505B horns with single 288's on top.

Each speaker with wings will stand just over 10 feet tall and 12 feet wide.

And they're in my 4 car garage.

I need one or two more amps, some 2405 slots, a rack mount mixer.........
............and that's about it. Maybe a new keyboard and one more guitar.

Hi David, sorry about the mediocre quality of the pictures, I had to get them all in one room for the photos as soon as she'd left for work;) . That was hard work! I have a small music room about 15' x 13' and 8' high so it's a case of listening to one pair for a few weeks then changing. Unfortunately it's not really large enough to let the 4341s or L200As breathe properly, hence the majority of "bookshelf" JBLs. Anyway, to answer your question, personally I prefer the vintage gear, i'm sure the LSRs measure much better but they are very "dry" low down if you know what I mean. IMHO I would rate the mid frequencies as probably the best I have heard. Of all the speakers I have my favourites are the L166As or the L110s, but just in case I ever move somewhere larger I will hang on to the 4341s and L200s!! You're right, it is an illness.:bouncy:

I agree with everything you say about the LSR's and the vintage speakers. What is that with the 122A (looks like), the LE5 and 077--a home-brew Jubal?

Yes, it is a home brew, I knew the 122A would work in that cab like the L166 and I love the 077 even from 6500hz up (I know that's not too popular here) as it's nice and raspy! I have to go out now so I will elaborate tommorrow and post more pics. Cheers, Tony.

I invested quite heavy in real mearsurement equipment, Bruel & Kjaer, after getting nuts with digital plastic and software (simulations are :biting: ).
Using new Iconic speakers 2 Woofers, 1 compound (Coaxial) as Mid/High. The sound is what I was looking for! Something real serious!
Very efficient, 1 Watt is real loud! The crossover is still not perfect but is yet a beta release!

I forgot to describe the sound: Image the sound impact of two Altec Model 19 per channel (I own a pair) with the deep, smooth, large soundstage without that sound of the horn.
To design the crossover is a battle but also lots of fun.(For the successful parts).
The Midrange part with coax is a separate, small, vented enclosure to boost the eficiency in low bass to keep up with the two bass drivers. The crosspoint is 100Hz.

...and I hope you don't move into my neighborhood (for SPL reasons only). And I thought I was an old-school JBL hacker!

After spending my early years as a sound engineer, with home systems that included most JBL monitors including 4350's, I currently use JBL LSR28P's for mains and a LSR12P subwoofer. I used to have LSR32P's but the earlier post that described their bottom end as 'dry' was spot on...great bass when placed close to a wall and played loud. LSR28's are, IMHO, the best affordable loudspeakers I've ever heard in a smaller room. I use some expensive AC connectors with them because they made an audible improvement.

Preamp is an old Adcom GFP 1400 (balanced XLR outputs, you know). Will be replaced by a Lexicon processor in 2006 (will also add some LSR6235P's for multichannel use).

Source is an Arcam CD/DVD. Can't remember the model, but great video, great sound, all in less than five inches of shelf space.

Hello, I am new to this site and everyone seems awesome. I have been building
speakers for almost 30 yrs. I have had just about every system up to the late
80's. I still love my 4350's and would not sell them even if I cant use them everyday. The system I have assembled for music and home theater.
For the front channels left and right 1 pair L300's and 1 pair 4333A's set on
top of the L300's powered by 2 Krell MDA500's. The center channel is a 4333
with a 2205 alnico reconed to a 2225H for added sensitivity to match the mains
All Lpads on this speaker in the plus 3 setting. This speaker is powered by a
Electron Kinetics Eagle 7A bridged mono #20. The subwoofer is a 2235H in a
4503 cabinet I believe. This is powered by another Eagle 7A in mono#43 they
putout over 1100 watts at 8 ohms. The rear channel I built in the ceiling using
components to make up 240Ti's. These are powered by a pair of Krell KMA400's
Functions are controled by a Krell Audio Video Standard, Mission CD, SonyES CD
Pioneer DLV90, Denon 5000 DVD, Sansui TU919 Tuner, Mitchell Cotter Table.

We do give some clients a single button at their entry doors that can turn on the lights throughout their house to an appropriate level for the time of day, turn on music throughout to their favorite playlist, and start filling their hot tub to their preferred temperature. Fun stuff.

Lets see....We have a High headroom Mackie 1604 VLZ mixer/pre driving a Rane AC-23B active Crossover, this feeds four different amplifiers-
Highs are fed to a Crest FA-901 which itself feeds a pair of JBL 2425J drivers.These are joined to 1" exit SWF bi-radial horns.
The mids are fed to a Crest FA-1201 which feeds a pair of "Voice of the theater" style Yahmaha mid bins,these are loaded with Eminence Kappa pro 15".
The lows are fed into 2 Crest FA-2401 amplifiers. The first amp feeds a pair of simple dual 18" cabs (4 ohm total/cabinet),these cabs are each loaded with a pair of Eminence Magnum 18LF's. These simple cabinets(24"x24"x46") are used as bass reflex- short throw.
The second Crest FA-2401 feeds a pair of Cerwin Vega EL-36 (single 18" folded horns),this is of course used in conjunction with the dual 18" bass reflex cabs but takes care of the long throw low frequency content. These have both been retrofitted with Eminence Kilomax 18's.
At present the crossover frequencies are; Low to mid-120hz, Mid to high-2.8 khz. (all at 24db/oct slopes)
Speaker cables used are 70ft of 8 gauge for one side of the lows while the other side consists of 30ft of 10 gauge (power amps are always on one side of the stage) ....there are 2 of these set ups for the lows.
For the mids its 70ft of 10 gauge and 30ft of 12 gauge.
The highs are also made up of 70ft of 10 gauge and 30ft of 12 gauge.

Reading your messages i got completely stunned learning how many gorgeous big JBL systems you guys own.
Yes, you're living in the right part of the world to obtain the best JBL bargains.
Importing such a system from the States to The Netherlands would be a very expensive matter. Since about half a year i have a pair of JBL 4312 A loudspeakers and i am still looking for one of the earlier big systems such as the Baron (D130 and 075).
I am still using my professionally upgraded Harman Kardon Citation 16 A power-amp, which was upgraded in fourty hours of intensive labour (according militairy specs). I have a Marant CD 94 MK II CD-player, which is connected to a Marantz CDA 94 DAC, which was upgraded by the Siltech Company (producer of the world famous silver audiocables). This company is situated about 20 miles from my place.

Been awhile since I have posted,but here is my rig.

Mark Levinson #39 CDP spinning signals to
Rane Mojo active 2way splitting signals at 500hz
the highs amplfied by Wavelength Gemini 45/2a3 monoblocks(2watts with 45 tube and 4watts with the 2a3) feeding signals to Altec 511b/902 horns.:cool:
the lows go on to a BagEnd ELF intergrator/x-over set at @70hz
upper bass signals are powered by a Bryston 3BPRO feeding Klipsch LaScala bass bins
low bass signals are powered by a Bryston 4BPRO feeding 2x18" BagEnd sub enclosures.

The system level is controled by the preamp section in the Levinson CDP and the Brystons and BagEnd integrator all have input level control.

The room is 30'x14'x8.5',this sytem is impressive:jawdrop:

Older Sony pro logic receiver
2x Lansing 99's for mains
1x EAW FR122HP for center
2x EV 3512 THX theatre subs (Soon to have the woofers replaced with 2242 recently removed from an install at a local club)
Crappy little speakers for surround duties at the moment cause I couldn't find anything sensitive enough to match the Lansing 99's for sensitivity usiong the Sony's internal amplification.

My main complaint of the system right now is that the current surround receiver is the system limitation. Surround channels on it with internal amplification is extremely low. The Lansing 99's and subs don't need a lot of power to get loud.

I have 4 amps I am rebuilding. 2x Crown D150a amps, which will be used for mains and surrounds, and 2x Crown PSA2 amps and will be using one bridged on each sub. (subs will still be underpowered with only 650 watts going to each one). I will hopefuilly in the future be using a Harmon Kardon citation 16 amp for the mains. (get the idea I do some install work locally??)

There are a pair of Jubal 65's in my future (hopefully VERY distant future) as they are my fathers primary speakers in his system.

We have two operational Harmon Kardon Citation 16 amplifiers, one still being used in active PA duty at a small bar here on a rental system.

So eventually I want my system to be the following:

EAW speaker as center speaker
Jubal 65's as mains
Lansing 99's as surrounds
2x 2242 in 9cubic ft cabs for subs
2x Crown D150a (center and surround duty)
2x Crown PSA2 (subs)

Didn't happen over night but things do come to me in the most mysterious ways.:)

If you are referring to the deck in the rack its a Teac 3440 metal auto setup job as I recall. I was quite a good sounding deck using metal TDK tapes.

A short story.......
The initial work was and still is my defining moment with JBL's. At the time ..cc1979 I was about 20 and had been collecting 4343 brochures for about 2 years and decided I just had to have them so I built a pair up from nothing. I wrote to JBL at the time asking for the schematic and the tuning and this guy called Gary (Margulius?) wrote back very politely saying there were unable to assist.

I mean where was Giskard? You guys have got it easy now...LOL:bouncy:

All I had was the brochures and a few measurements in dealers showrooms and hifi shows. My brother would distract the reps while I got out the tape measure. It is quite funny because this happened all over again with Bo 25 years later doing the original work on cloning the 4345's. Fate you might say!

They were a biamped 3 way system initally with a passive two way crossover and I started out with text book filters for the 2121 and the 2420 and the horn/lense..the 2121 was not padded back at all so it was a real kick butt system using 350 watts aside on the woofers and 100+ super clean watts with a Quad 405 on the midrange array. The 2405s came later and I tweaked the horn network by ear using the other channel as a reference to get the horns and the slot to blend properly. The 2405s were really expensive (AUD$650) but they really made a big difference. The best bit was I was allowed to have them in the lounge room at home. Mum thought they sounded pretty good! I then went semi pro and hired them out for special events for about 7 years using the same rack in the picture. It was fairly serious system in those days and still is.

You do things like that at that age but I am glad the interest has survived all these years. I have toned it down a bit over the years.

Here's a quick run-down of my system. The entire front end of the room is going to change very soon though. I am getting ready to build not 2, but 3 Usher Audio D2 "clones". That means I'll have six 10cf ported enclosures tuned to 28Hz, stuffed with no less than six Usher 15HM drivers. The main channels will naturally be in the MTM configuration with the Altec 511B in the middle. The matching center channel will be the same exact way, only horizontal with the 511B being flanked on either side with a 15HM. This also means that I will no longer have a sub due to the lack of space in the room. I'm hoping that with six of the 15HM drivers, I won't need a sub and that I'll get usable output down to at least 20Hz, maybe lower around 16Hz... I hope.



511B horns with 902-8B drivers mounted on top of a pair of '78 Klipsch Cornwalls. The only operational driver in the Cornwalls is the K33-E 15" drivers. The mid and tweet are disabled. In fact, the Type B crossovers (which have been heavily modded) are now resting peacefully in my closet.

That big black thing is a 51uF Solen just to suck up any extra turn-on juice the Crown D-75A may put out when turned on. IOW, it's soley there for protection. I believe this also rolls off the 902-8B drivers around 400Hz @ 6dB, which is below the 600Hz crossover point.

Here's another 511B with a 902-8T driver for the center channel. Here you can also see one of the modded Klipsch Type B networks. This one has be converted over to 2-way operation and seeing the 902-8T driver as a 64 ohm load to bring its output down closer to the 15" woofer's output.

This is where the heart of the system is. The Rane AC 22B crossover allows me to dial in the delay of the K33-E woofers and 902 drivers to get everything sounding just right. The Behringer DEQ1024 is used to flatten out a small peak around 1.2kHz. Also, because these 902-8B drivers are 30+ years old and came out of a large theater in Atlanta, GA, they have seen lots of action and power over the years. For this, their diaphrams are a little work-hardened, which gives them a little more than desired rolled-off top end. So I am also using the DEQ1024 to boost the top end a little as well to help things out.

This is the Technics SU-8099 integrated. My father bought this amp brand new back in '78 along with the Cornwalls, for the Cornwalls. He gave both the speakers and this amp to me. Anywho, this amp provides 115 very strong and very HOT watts to the K33-E drivers. And if you look closely to that meter, that's not peaking at 7-10 watts. The meter is in the 0.1x range, which makes that about 0.75 - 1 watt peak! This is my little gem right here. The awsome little Crown D-75A amp. This amp can pump out a whopping 35 watts into 8 ohms and is rated at 0.05 THD at full power. I bought this amp on eBay for $75 shipped! The guy that had it said that it was untested and that the gain knobs were real loose, so he was selling it as is.

Turns out that the amp was in MINT condition and the nuts on the knob shafts had worked loose. All it took was a couple minutes snugging down the nuts and that was it. As you can see, the gain is only at 2/3, and the output from the Rane crossover is just over half. The signal LEDs never light up unless I'm really hammering it, so I'm guessing I'm barely getting a 1/2 watt out of it most of the time, and maybe 1-1.5 watts max! With its excellent specs and super clean power, it is a perfect match for the 511B/902 combo.

Just for fun, here's the business end of the system. The Music Hall Cd25.2 is long gone. I upgraded the opamps to Burr-Browns, but it never really impressed me that much. In fact, it's really didn't sound any better than the Panisonic DVD player, so I ended up selling it.

One thing you can't see in the photo is a Rane BB22 Balance Buddy. It's behind the DVD/crossover/eq stack. The MIANS pre-out from the Pioneer Elite VSX-54TX goes into the BB22. From there, it enters the DEQ1024, then to the AC 22B crossover, then to the Technics amp and small Crown amp. BTW, the silver Crown XTi 1000 is for the DIY push/pull sub I built. It has two Dayton 15" DVC drivers in a 6.3cf sealed enclosure. With the sub in its current location and with 2.83V input with pink noise at 1 meter, I measured 99dB, both with my SPL meter and TrueRTA!! At my listening position, I still get between 95-96dB. Gotta love that room gain! Nominal impedance is 8 ohms, and the amp is bridged mono for a healthy 1000 watts of power. This amp has a built-in DSP, digital crossover, digital EQ and other various things (none of which I am using), but the really great thing about it is the cooling fan. The cooling fan stays off and only turns on when things really heat up. Generally, durring normal music and movie playback, the fan never comes on. It's only if I'm watching a live concert or a movie like "War Of The Worlds" where there's lots and lots of sustained, deep bass when the fan comes on, and I have to be really cranking it to get the fan to come on. Even then, I only know it's on if there's a sudden quiet spot in the music or movie that I can here the fan running.

After many hours of listening I have decided to go back with the original set up using the BGW Amps and Pre Amp and JBL Active Cross Over. Just can't beat Bi Polar output devices IMHO and the 5235 is probably the best match for the 4430/4435. Still need to install the Rack hardware into the equipment rack and put the gear in there but working on that now and I want to remake the 4430 stands .... will it ever end!

I had thought of soffit mounting them infilling the spaces either side of the fireplace as per your pic but thought the wife would probably go bazerk at the idea, so I will let that one lie for 12 months or so and let her get used to them as they are and if we are still here then I may modify things then, little steps at a time... lol

The 4430's are just sitting there not connected .... I know it's a bit of a crime, they are expensive flower stands. I suppose the obvious answer is to use some of the removed equipment to drive the 4430's and run a couple of balanced lines from the lounge room to the games room for the 4430's but the acoustics in this big room are'nt the best. The wife actually prefers the 4435's in the lounge than the 4430's as they "fill the space better" Either way they are both nice pieces of furniture, I wish you luck in convincing your wife of the 4430's, you will never need to buy another loudspeaker system in your life, LOL unless your like me and got adicted and went one better with the 4435's.

I had a dream of building a better system then and gathered a lot of information on JBL system. But I got too busy on raising family, building business etc. I could not improve anything beyond LE8T until recently.

I have been browsing this forum for 3 month before my first post. This forum reminded me a lot of information I almost forgot and more. Thank you.

I am sure these are old speakers but they sound better than most of modern day's speakers. ;)

As you see above I found "my sound" in the match of vintage Technics SE series gear combined with highest quality JBL speakers.
They are feast to my ears (and to my eyes, I'm simply in love with the aesthetics of those gigantic VU-Meters).

If I would like to try something different, I may change my room system with Luxman M-05/C-05 coupled with Yamaha NS-2000 speakers after i'm firmly convinced that they are indeed a better combination in sound terms.
Same thought goes with Sony MDR-R10 too...

there is at least 1 err in the vid..."Hafler CD" is really Carver CD.

THAT IS A DANGEROUS QUESTION TO ANSWER ON THE jbl FORUM. The L-166's are very nice and for many many years I would have been overjoyed to have them for my mains.

BUT,,,the walsh F's are a different animal...I'm not really able to describe them to someone who cant hear them. there was a huge price difference between them and the JBL's...$4k vs $1k ?

Hi,

My first step in the JBL world :)

I've received a 4645c sub and a Crown Xti2000 two weeks ago to replace a Velodyne DD15. This DD was my second one but i got too many problems with it after 18 months of use : amplifier changed twice, woofer changed ... :spchless:

So i decided to find a new sub, at least as good as the DD15 but more reliable. After testing the SVS PB13 ultra (thanks to Lsound for the 45 days money-back guarantee :cool:), the JBL is the winner :applaud:

Maybe a bit of source point issue at low volume levels; the tweets being so far from the woofers. I surely am not disappointed with them, and will continue to use them. Was disappointed to have missed getting those spare parts off that auction site awhile back...

We took a pair of thoose speakers as trade inn in the shop where i used to work. Got to listen a bit to them. They sounded quite nice. :)

Hi, new member here. I just recently lost my JBL virginity when I ran across a pair of beautiful blue 4301Bs in my girlfriend's dad's junk shed while looking for a nightstand. They had spent their entire lives in a TV studio until he rescued them from being thrown out recently. Anyway, he simply let me have them. :D

My modest system now consists of:

Speakers: JBL 4301B
Preamp: Improved Dynaco PAS-3
Power Amp: Magnavox AMP-185 chassis (2 channels of 6V6 push-pull), modified to AMP-175 circuit.
Turntable: Technics SL-1200MK2
CD: Grundig CD-903

I am impressed with these little guys. I can hardly imagine how good the bigger JBLs must sound, and I'm definitely keeping my eyes open for more!

The Sansui has 2 discrete TT inputs, one of which is switchable. CD is attached to the aux input and the TV is attached to the Tuner input. It's an old amp, but the headroom to cope with the varying inputs.

Yamaha NS-1000X on high stands. The bookshelves behind the speakers make for very effective and quite tunable room damping.
Attached to the TV for both sound and vision are a Mac Mini, Oppo DVD, Wii and a VHS/DVD player. I use the TV's DAC to output to the amp at the other side of the room. There is an outboard DAC in the rack, but it isn't attached as it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to the sound. The TV does a fine job for routing the various AV signals from that side of the room.

The speakers are bigger brothers of the NS-1000M. Essentially the same Be mid and treble drivers in a taller, wider and more massive cabinet (427mm wide × 695mm high × 335mm deep x 42kgs each), but with a very exotic 12" driver that features a longitudinally corrugated carbon-fibre woven cone and a Strontium magnet (!!!). The model is from circa 1984.

Around 1980 I bought two Olympus speakers with the horn, tweeder, passive 15 inch and 15 inch. (c50 I think). I then bought a Pioneer receiver to drive. It was the SA 1980 Pioneer with 270 per channel (80 plus pound monster). Oh there is headroom.
To tell you the truth, I have never heard a system I have liked better. Just had the 15 inchers reconed and even sound better than before.

5 - 4430s for surround duty (1 spare - One of my pair have eyehooks for suspension from the previous owner). Every one in a while one of my 4430s gets little scratchy - corrosion, dying capacitor? I don't know, I blast through with some high SPL and everything is good again.

The LSRs are supposed to be the next iteration of the surround music system. Why do I have so many? I picked them up along the way for decent prices. It seems a lot of musicians who might use these in home systems are pressed for cash these days. crazedlist.org makes it easy to look for whatever jbls you're looking for.

my home has...no living room TV..none of the bedrooms are slept in...

I have a somewhat different idea of usage from most....took the 14x24 family room and use it for master bedroom...has fireplace & sliding glass door and a bit quieter.

the living room is for talking or 2 channel stereo

the LR main system is in a large oak console..on top is a large (19inch screen) Sony laptop connected by Toslink to an Adcom DAC underneath it....there is also the big Denon DP-60L TT .

they both run to the BGW 203 preamp on the interior shelf , next down ...its on top of the power conditioner.

next shelf is a Sony ES* CD player and ES Minidisk deck

(*ES = Elevated Standard ..Sony's premium line.)

in the hidden side is the BGW 750D amp (375wpc) , BGW 250D amp (125 wpc) , NAD receiver (40 wpc) , SRS unit and EQ

the SRS & EQ are on the EQ loop and disengaged easily

the 203 preamp has outputs to 2 amps ...1 line goes to the 750D and passes thru to the 250D ...the other line goes to the NAD and it pushes 2 M&K subs...the 750 runs the JBL 250ti's and the 250 runs the Ohm Walsh F's ....so can run JBL's OR Walsh's OR both from same source components

Also in the LR is second (or is it third ??) system of Denon DP-45F TT , Sony ES CD & Sony ES minidisk running to a Denon DRA-775 receiver and NO permanent speakers (Yammys are currently on the wires)

work area has Sony receiver , Kyocrea CD , Paradyme speakers

main computer has a good soundcard outputting to a Technics receiver running both JBL L100's in the foot wells and Sonance 2 ways from the ceiling....Technics TT also

on the bedroom systems ..they both share the AR90 towers,,,the HT side is a Denon AVR & DVD ...the center (JBL CL505),sub (JBL 10), rears (a/d/s) run directly to the amp...the fronts go to a switchbox ...(6 speaker pair and 2 amps, but only 1 set of speakers is connected) ..I switch the box in for the AR's to run HT and out for 2 channel to the AR's where it is fed by a 325 wpc (4 ohm) Adcom amp , Adcom preamp ..sourcing another Sony ES CD and minidisk and Pioneer TT ...there is also a stand alone CD to minidisk duplicator deck.

The main bath has an Advent 400 Mono FM receiver with the matching Advent speaker....there is AUX input so I can plug in the pod when taking a bath

for tunes in bed , I use the iPod touch and stream wireless Pandora , then thru a Teac amp to Sennheiser HD-580 headphones

on the bike its just an iPod nano and clip-on ear buds...

Flexible??? 2 different systems can use the AR90's and 2 different amps/speaker systems can use all the same source components.

I don’t even know whats all in storage ,there are AR-428ps amplified towers and a/d/s L-1290 towers in reserve....each is roughly an L-7 equivalent.

My system morphed so many times, but I will describe what I have now with one piece of gear that steadfastly remains at the core: JBL L-96. All I needed to do was change the binding posts.

The sound system is a result of purchasing the older stereo equipment from the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry when they went IMAX, so my system is modeled after their theater from 1990 until 2007. All amps have been rebuilt by the manufacturer's or the capacitors have been replaced by me to NOS standards.;)

All that said, I've never had it louder than -8 dB; as otherwise it's too loud. Essentially this equipment was in a theater for 250 to 350 seats. One thing, in retirement I'm going to model the theater room like this one, which uses the sme equipment as me:

My wife didn't understand what - 8 dB means. But she does, so she's always ready to see where I've got the level at. Really typically we never go louder than -20 to -21 dB.:(

And it all got started by looking for 18" 2245H's my friend from the Museum had, he complained that no one wanted to pay shipping, I said "I'll take all 12, drove down from Milwaukee and went to south Chicago that evening; and a friendship was made.

Fortunately they went IMAX, and I picked up on all their BGW and AB Systems amps. Bob at Precision Electronic's (owner of AB International, AB Systems etc) had just done 7 x 713's for the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum this past November prior to renovating the three I have in January; so they have pretty good provenance. BTW I got l all their old JBL Pro drivers; and all thier NOS speakers as well (2445J/2446J, 2404H, 2202H, 2204H).

My wife had some doubt, but was sold over when she heard the system.;)

I still use the equipment that I bought in 1971 with a upgrade in 1975. Started with a Sansui 7000 receiver, sr4050c turntable and two sets of s109 speakers. I changed receivers in 75 an got a Rotel ra 1412 amp and rt 1024 tuner. Speakers have been reconed twice in that time. I did add a Paradigm sub to the mix a number of years ago. I use them daily and have all these years.
