Could anyone briefly explain what these components are and what one could expect from a sytem of this type? I am trying to do my homework and searches but any info, pros and cons, from anyone familiar would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's sort of a 001 component system but with the fully-instrumented shallow-depth 12" 123 woofer substituted for the D130A, so that kills the low end. Then the N2400 isn't the right cross-over frequency for the nice LE175DLH driver/horn which should use an N1200. The 123 was commonly used with the N2400 and 075 UHF ring-radiator but the set-up you're describing under-utilizes the range of the LE175DLH's mid-range.

I suspect the whole system sounds kind of thin at the bottom and not real bright at the top-end. The 123 is about the most worthless old JBL LF in terms of selling price (I've got one; I know!), but the LE175DLH can bring some money, if parting out is the eventual demise of the system you're asking about. Sounds like a mish-mash combination but I'd sure like to talk you out of the LE175DLH. I need just one. 16-ohm, please!

Actually to say the D123 kills the bottom end compared to the D131 is not necessarily true. If you don't have enough box the D123 will have better low end. Few 12" speakers have less low end than a D131 without enough box.

Then I've never heard an LE175DLH paired with a 131, either, but I have heard the D130A in several different enclosures and I know what my D123 sounds like. :)

Even more so D130 but my bad for missing that. D123 can get away with much less box. I think it's original claim to fame is it can be built into a 2x4 wall. Bad habit of mine. Jumping in with information that may not have been solicited. If that is what I did pardon me. You are right about the D130 having much better base in the right cabinet but notice for the L100 it's the D123 they chose to modify not the D130.

From my limited experience, they are quite different—and twenty-years apart. An L100 with a D130? Nice mod! :applaud:
Thanks, but I'll stick with the 030!
