Hell NO! Thats some amazing stuff. Field Coils???

I can't help you but I sure would like to see them. Do you have any pictures you could post.

You could try the High Efficiency Forum at AA?? Might have more luck.

Rob:)

The small amout of data that I have for Western Electric equipment is for the real early stuff.Mostly from the 1930 era.None of your listed componets are in my list of early equipment.I seem to remember the 2090 as hailing from the 1940 era at the end of W.E. Let us know once you discover what you have.Good luck!

here are the cabinet 2084f and the crossover are the 3177a,
The drivers are all permanent magnet.
According to the previous owner they date from the 50'/60'.
I also opened the projection cabine speaker it read inside "2060A monitor loudspeaker" about 10" diameter and stamped 18nov1946.
There was 2 of these in the cinema (1 per room) so I have a matching pair. (4x12"+2x10cells+2x1.5"+crossover) I can build a single system as per pictures on top right corner. My brother also has old new stock 2080A. Can't wait to put it together!!!!
No amplifier to be seen

What you have is "WESTREX" - not WESTERN ELECTRIC

This stuff is mainly modified ALTEC components
for outside the USA market (Australia , UK etc)

The WESTREX (ALTEC) 288 compression drivers might fetch $50 to $150 which is not fair really as they
are quite good sounding with some modifications (larger, damped rear chamber)

I've seen the 2080s listed for $500 on ebay. It is really a Altec 515 with different paint & a handle.

The 2080 is very similar to the 515. The 2080 has the same paper cone a slighty different phenolic spider and a chassis that can be centered with 4 grub screws.
