what I don't understand is how those things can sound better than my 250ti's. What am I missing here?:p

What am I missing here?A big, high compliance JBL fifteen, a 1" throat compression driver bolted to a long exponential horn, a slot loaded ring radiator and a mid-seventies network design. That's what happens when you move ten years forward. Your competition is actually the original DD55000, not the L300/4333.

The violet curve is the stock 136A in the L300 cabinet with stock tuning... the gray curve is a JBL 2220 in the same cabinet with the stock tuning. The curves are balanced for a similar midrange output.
