I got 3rd place, bought too many tweeters recently to break 400. How much for a decent set of 120 then? or 240? scary!!

Seems every day any TI's are going up and up. Did you see that last set of L15's? I lost the item number they went for $260.00 I think. They came with original boxes and all the goodies. They were also very nice.

The prices going high is a good thing for those who have nice collections for retaining value, but it makes it hard for those trying to build that are on a budget. The items are getting out of reach. I find that I get my best deals on the weekends on e-bay not so many people buying. I have really scored some good deals on the weekends. Seems during the week lots of people do e-bay while at work so the items tend to bring more money.

Do you think the prices have surpassed value? Could I get the "same" for less money? a very subjective question as some people enjoy a certain sound no matter what the price. But for comparison could I buy a used Studio or Performance series (or equivalent) JBL for 2G (ballpark price) that I paid for my 250ti? or compapre a 120ti to its current counter part?
Don'tknow if there is a real answer but if it were current series be much easier to get parts :applaud:
I think the 18 has passed that point. don't know for sure if is the tweeter or lack of units (supply) . I still want set complete for my collection, not parts
Random thoughts w/o enough coffee...

I was also looking at these but didn't place any bids. I just think they are good looking speakers and I already have a spot for them on my desk. I will keep looking for a reasonable priced pair if that's possible .:p

To think I was worried about spending $500 on a set of JBL 240Ti's.. Wish I still had them now :(.

Jim, in case your interested I have a set of L15's, granted they are not 18Ti's, but are very similiar and MUCH cheaper. Am using them now as computer speakers and they serve this purpose very well. Ultimately I am going to use a different pair so not too worried about not having something for a little while. Just would like to see them go to the right person :). Just need to put the stock crossovers back in, as I built my own crossovers for them to suit my preferences... You may or may not like them the way I have them,. Given that you already own both the 250Ti and L96, I think you'll prefer them more with the stock crossovers.

Thanks anyway but I have a set of L19's I don't even use anymore. I think these are the consumer version of the 4301's (I think). They are in great condition but I don't use them anymore.
I also have a set of HLS 610's I bought from Salvation Army months ago and haven't even hooked them up yet to see if they work.;)

No problem... Am in no hurry to sell them anyways, just would have to replace them with something else.
