As long as the drivers and networks are intact, that's a great price. Those are real butt-kickers!
The woofers are nearly indestructible, but the Audax soft dome tweeters can be fried. It'd be best to check them out before purchase, as replacements are $117 and out of production.

Not every poorly worded and slowly followed up sale is a scam. A lot of them are just people who aren't sure what they're doing or who have other things going on in their lives so they don't attend to the sale the way an experienced seller or avid fan might.
This creates a real opportunity for a local buyer. It's how I got those XPL200s for $360 after so many people gave up on ever getting that poor, sick, confused seller (and his haphazard agents) to respond.

From $1150 down to $360 for a pair of "needy" XPL200s is the reward of perseverance, and the old gent got some money right when he needed it.
I could cite other examples like the mint 240Tis in original boxes from a guy who was moving and they and the phone were the last things left in the house and he needed someone to come by and take them TODAY. The third time I called he happened to be near the phone. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has such stories.
