Thank you for thinking of me, hmolwitz. I have a couple of MI-9449s with trashed cones in the shed, as well as some of the slightly earlier MI-9444 field coil woofers.

The auction driver has been reconed. These drivers originally had a very light, thin cone whose surface was covered with fine concentric corrugations. Very nice woofers, though it is hard to find one with a good original cone.

I'll keep looking, I know you favor this stuff when you aren't building your own.
How is your bass compression driver going?
I would love to hear that.

Hi Harry,

Thanks. I'm always on the lookout, especially for Lansing, RCA or other field coil theatre gear.

We have finalized the design of the DS-1448 bass compression driver, and are in small scale production. We just took delivery of 20 top plates, which should last us a little while at least.
