Hey guys, firstly is a 2123 10" driver a candidate for horn loading. If this can be done does anyone have plans to do so. I'd like something dimensionly similar to the 4560's at least in width and depth.
Thanks.....

I can't see why that wouldn't work. Heck, in fact, many forms of waveguides and large-throat horns (like the A7 VOTT- style bass cabinet), actually act to INCREASE the bottom-end gain of the driver a bit, compared to the highs, so that it MIGHT even cancel out the normally-rising response of the 2123!

If you're going to use it as a midbass on top of the big horn, I can't see why you shouldn't be able to make a "minuture A7" style waveguide, and park it on top of the bass cabinet. Of course, you could probably just make the waveguide just slightly taller than the woofer (to set the vertical pattern)... it wouldn't need to be as tall WRT the driver as the VOTT...

Regards,
Gordon.

Hi MIKE C

I use a pair of D216 horn loaded between 320HZ to 1.2(See my avatar) and I can confirm the horn increase bottom-end for 3db at 320HZ(Measure done with a sound generator and a SPL meter). No matter for me ,as the D216 had an increase curve originaly. So the response is flat when drivers are face loaded and enclosure are back open.
