The 4320 has 2215 woofers and the 2420 compression drivers have phenolic diaphragms. When I added the 2405 slots (and the 3106 crossovers) it brightened up the 4320 considerably.
The 4333s came complete, with 2231 woofers, 2420 compression drivers and the 2405 slots.
How do they compare? I think the 4333s are a little deeper and a little smoother then the upgraded 4320s.
The 4343s, however, are even smoother and seem to have more detail. The low end is especially deep, even compared to the 4333s. The 10" mid drivers seem to help with voices and make it all seem more real.
I don't have the 4320s or 4333s hooked up...as I don't have room, or want multiple pairs of studio monitors in the same room!
I have always run all of these in the bi-amp configuration.

In order to bi-amp you need an active crossover. These are not expensive and are easy to hook up. (Rane makes an AC 22 and JBL Urei made a 5235 that uses crossover cards with selected values)
The line level outs from your preamp go to the crossover, and the low output from there goes to a power amp that feeds the woofer input directly. The high output from the crossover goes to a diffetent power amp and then to a JBL 3106 (or similar) passive crossover which sends the mids to the compression driver and the highest frequencies to the 2405 slot. You set the woofer/ mid-hi crossover point at the active crossover and can balance these by adjusting the active crossover levels and/or the power amp levels.
The balance between the compression driver and the slot is adjusted by the L pad on the 3106 passive unit.
It all works very well, giving you more control and superior performance.

Yes, 800Hz is a good frequency to use for crossing the 15s with the compression drivers.

The 4320 has 2215 woofers and the 2420 compression drivers have phenolic diaphragms. ...
Tom

Shouldn't that be Aluminum diaphragms? (Aluminium for the ROW folks.)

I know my pair came with ALU, phenolic came in the otherwise identical 2470.

4320 used 2307 horn, while 4333 used the longer 2312.

It matters. 2307 was ultimately deemed a 1200 Hz horn.

For crossing at 800 Hz, upgrade 4320 to 2312....
