Dear Friends,

being quite new to this fantastic forum, but nevertheless a real JBL fan, I have been reading many threads about upgrading or substituting the original 3107 crossover of a JBL 4350A (my system) and on the benefits deriving from this.
Unfortunately being my job more in the economics than in electronics I can't even read an electric scheme. On the other side using JBl monitors for 20 yesars now I have a trained and analytic ear to understand and appreciate sonic improvements.
Having red so many threads I have understood that we have valued members with excellent, if not unique technical background and understanding of these superb monitors.

Where can I get a good job done to change the capacitors of the original 3107 or even better where can I buy a new Charge Coupled crossover dedicated to the 4350A?

Thank you

Contact riessen (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/member.php?u=1656) if you are interested in upgrading to 4355 charge coupled networks.

Thank you Giskard,

I'm very interested to improve to the best possible the performance of my 4350A, without the limitations of old designed x-over.

but isn't 4350A (2231A-2202A-2440 2405)

different from

4355 (2235H-2202H-2441-2405H)

Shouldn't then be also different the charge coupled crossover designed for the 4355 from the one designed for the 4350A ?

Thanks again

I'm sure someone here would love to build you a pair of charge coupled 3107's.

The 3107 is for the top 3 components only as you know the system is biamped. The 4355 uses an improved and updated crossover using essentially the same 3 drivers. That's your best bet to get the most out of them.

Dear friends,

I would be very happy to buy a No-compromise Dedicated Charge Coupled
X-over for my 4350A.

I would really like to squeeze out every bit of performance and sound nuances from my newly fully reconed 4350As.

Thank you

I would join you to buy a pair of custom made 3107's. I also own 4350A's that would benefit. If someone feels like making 2 pairs, maybe we could strike a deal.

Finally, after 5 days of listening and a small break-in, the definitive test.

Ever listened to nothing similar!
New speakerss are exceptional!
They plays you smooth, with so many details in more and in uproarious way.
They play better every time!
The change has given me a new couple of speakers from the incomparable performances.
I have also used the Dynamat Extreme for the inside of the boxes. I recommend to everybody to do this. They seems "granite".
I now have an incomparable HiFi system.
I recommend the modding of the crossover to everybody. It be an unique experience! Your speakers will never have had such an excellent sound.
I use the flat string copper coil from Mundor, the Silver-Oil caps for the medium-high end for the tweeter, the Supreme Mundorf caps for low midrange and many series of resistences 10 watt by Mundorffor the substitution of the 4 original resistances. I have removed the L-pad.
