Still, when I am writing a post (new or comment) if it takes a little time, when I click "submit" I have to log on again.

Can somebody fix this, or tell me what to do if it is something wrong in my computer setup.

I just wrote a message, and by the time it took, I had to register again. The message was not posted, as I did not want to write it again.

Can somebody fix this????

When you log in, be sure to check the "remember me" box. If you still experience the problem, it most likely is caused by your settings that control how your computer handles cookies, or how often your browser automatically refreshes web pages.

I have experienced the problem in the past, and still don't know exactly how I fixed it. Until I fixed it, I composed and edited my posts with notepad or wordpad, then copied the entire post, logged in, pasted the post, and submitted it. This was usually fast enough to work, and if it didn't, at least you still have the message you composed on the clipboard.

I am still working with the problem. Nothing seems to work yet.

Strange, now I get 2 copies of every mail sent to me regarding the threads I subscribe to, and I still have to log in if I am "inactive" for some minutes.

Rolf and mods

I too am experiencing this odd behavior today. If I'm inactive for a few minutes I'm logged off. Also, when I first sign on I have to log in manually, though I've been able to log in automatically for years.

W'up?

If I clear my cookies (Win98SE,) I've gotta log in again, clicking the "Remember me," or it dumps me according to some similarly irritating schedule/algorithm....

I had to log in too.
Cookies seem to be in the box, as the "Other" sites visited before this one,
recognized me, as in no log in required.
No big deal though, just had to FIND my password.
Carry On.........

The problem seems to have resolved itself, so thanks to anyone who did something to fix it. If no one did anything, then ???
