Hi guys,

Is the 2213 woofer identical to the 123A-3 woofer? I've a 123A-3 woofer which is damaged and I'm thinking of replacing it with the 2213, which I can get.

Yes, the 2213 is the Pro version of the 123A-3.

Thanks a lot, I just replace the woofer with the 2213

Could you do me a favor?

I know the 123A-1 is positive, but the 123A-3 may be negative (JBL no longer advised reversing polarity when swapping-in the 2213H for the 123A-3).

Can you do a polarity check on that 123A-3? Hold a 9-volt (or smaller, but this will work...) up to the terminals. (+) to Red, (-) to Black. If the cone moves IN it is negative.

I've had a hunch the 123A-3 is negative but never been able to test it...

Please let us know. Thanks!

BTW -

Here's why I was hoping you could test that 123A-3 for us, and confirm it is NEGATIVE. The following excerpts from the technical sheets of the "L1:D:D" and the "L1:nutz::nutz:A Late Model" suggest the -3 is NEGATIVE like the 2213H, since JBL do not advise the need to switch polarity when swapping-in the 2213H.

Anyway, good luck... :slink:

I'll do the test and post the results later , probably after Christmas. Merry Chrismas everyone

Did the check on the 123A-3, the polarity is correct. Strange, I expected it to be reversed after looking at the Tech Sheet in your post. Wishing everyone a Great New Year :smthsail:

What do you mean - "correct"? Does the 123A-3 cone move in or out on positive current?

Thanks...
