Am fortunate to have 4412s & 4410s. Of course the 12s were used as mains.

But , I don't have the room to align them horizontally as intended. Somehow they did not have the magical imaging of the 10s when used that way.

Swapped them front to back, 4410s new mains, an upgrade in my setup.

PS: anyone know why the 4410 has standard wiring post AND 1/4 plug for inputs while the 4412 does not have the plug input ???

Geez, seawolf:blink:.....try at least some 16 guage monster wire....then you will hear the clarity and smoothness those are capable of:bouncy:....although they sound good as they are, for sure....my vote is for the previous owner/dealer did a nice job of adding the phone jack input....owned a few of these series, never seen that....actually never seen it on any jbl monitor.....except stage monitors, that is...happy new year!!

I agree - the 1/4" jack was added later. Any that I've seen JBL use, (Cabaret series, etc.), have the little flap-cover that closes and seals them when not in use.

well , that wire gonna have to stay in for a while. The old Monster wire will not connect to the new o/p source. Solving that is on my list of "to-do's", but the health/house projects come first.

Is there any advantage to the 1/4 jack , other than quick connect/disconnect ? (which I dont do)

All high power applications should be speakon or banana. I only use 1/4 jacks on some live monitor wedges, and only in a low volume show....the bananas/speakons sound better to my ears, even at low volume....there just isn't much contact in the old phone plug system.....One thing I forgot....you do need to plug that hole somehow....it will whistle and also mess up the bass port tuning of the cabinet...chewing gum? Just kidding

i wonder if they were ever used in a stage application hence the 1/4 plug

My 4320 boxes had 1/4 phone jacks in them when I bought them last February. I got them from a music store outside Philly that had a recording studio in the basement - and I'm sure that facilitated the bands that came in and played.

Bring your bubblegun over , SB , and we'll do some A/B's. :D

OBTW: a week after you heard the 4410's, the foam fell out of one of the LFs. Much better now.
