Usher audio D2 looks very similar to a K2 with a TAD-4001 maple driver horn about 600lbs ea. Has anyone have any info on this speaker?

Yes, outwardly they are similar. Here is a link...

I have never seen them and I have no idea if they are great or just good... the horn is not a TAD, but according to the literature I have read they are using a TAD 4001 driver... and a lot of hyperbole. :D

Looking at the photo... it makes me wonder if they know what they are doing. It seems to me that a much tighter woofer spacing would work better... as JBL did in the original K2 and M9500.

Thanks Widget,
I found two owners very close to me kinda high end audiophiles. Only three pairs in the US as I was told. I might have a test drive tomorrow. There is one set for sell for about 9k or so in the US.

I guess they flip them around occasionaly.Yes... that looks better... I guess no one told the photographer who shot the studio shot I found, how they are meant to be set up.

I guess both of the sets here are incorrect.

The network looks very simple. 6dB ?
I don't think there is any HF compensation.

Oh and this NPE....

I know some people get annoyed when a thread is brought back from the dead. you shouldn't care.

Anyhoo, i had a chance to listen to these things this past weekend.
They really have that jbl-style 15" + compression driver character to the sound. To me that's a bit of a mixed bag. I think they did suffer some from being setup as in the press shots, with the ports by the horn. I felt something should be done to help the big heavies and the little Be diaphragms join up.
Could it be cone break up? I hear the same thing on my JBL 4331s.

I think the amplifiers we're just BAD. There was an ultrasonic hum or some kind of digital artefact...
