the technical manual says the 2452H (d8r2452)

The only 2451-specific diaphragm listed is the Aquaplas'd 16-Ohm "J" version:

Looks like all 2452s have Aquaplas now. Don't want the damping, you go back to 2450, looks like.... :dont-know

ok, now i am REALLY confused. that .pdf file states to use the D8R2450. that is now 3 different pieces of JBL literature that states 3 different diaphrams.

what's going on here???

Best to call JBL Pro directly in Northridge, California and speak to an applications engineer or with Dave and his friends in Parts. They can give you what recommendations would be reasonably officially supported by JBL. You should probably define for them, maybe by serial number, which speakers you have and your specific application.

Having said that, did you pull the horn/drivers out of the cabinet and examine the driver? You should check the driver separate from the crossover wiring to determine if the driver/diaphragm is indeed dead and in need of replacement. If it is, then take off the back cover screws and check the diaphragm, noting any numbers which are written on it or the support collar. This will give you a starting point in discussion with JBL Pro.

Maybe provide some pix here of the labels and drivers so we can see what you're dealing with.

As of March 2006, JBL pro lists the 2451H-1 as the SRX725/F HF Driver.
I see the discrepancy between the OM/Reference list and the Service PDF file listing the 2452H but don't know why it exists. Best to pull the driver and check what you have.

Here's what my service manual says:

SRX725 has the 2451H-1 which uses the D8R2450.

SRX722 uses 2452H with serial numbers starting with 11415.

hmm...i am so happy my b stock guy had no more and i had to get a new one with the updated driver.:D

new one with updated driver??? please explain.

nothing is wrong with mine... just like to keep a spare driver.

It's possible that the driver was updated in production and the literature isn't entirely clear on what production units have the new driver.

My manual states the update by serial number for the SRX722, but doesn't mention the SRX725....coul have been done after my service manual was released to us service centers.

Like Zilch said, in your case it would be best to take out the driver to see what's inside.
