Can you do this with your puny stock factory car audio system?

I didn't think so.

Thanks for sharing Episode (X+1) of Stupid Car Audio Tricks. :D

There's been plenty of those in the past... like the PPI (or was it Orion?) display of arc-welding with the output of an amp, the US Amps "burning lead pencils" shennanigans, and the Cerwin-Vega "18 inch woofer as air-hockey puck" (drive it at 60 Hz from a wall socket, place it face-down on the floor, and watch it float around), and such.

Entertaining, but mostly just plain goofy. :D

One thing- with the amp being fed by a pure sine wave from a generator, I bet that was the CLEANEST 60 Hz 120V power that sawsall had EVER seen! BTW: The new PS Audio PowerPlant Premier is based on exactly that principle... it's essentially, a 2000-watt-or-so PWM-output power amp, with a 60Hz sine wave (or other waveforms that are available, to optimize power delivery to tube amps, etc) generator. So much for power factor problems, spikes, asymmetrical power waveforms, and such!!

Regards,
Gordon.
