Hi

I am new to JBL drivers and have been offered some 2482 drivers very cheaply, however, the driver throats are cracked.

Is this a "terminal" condition, or is it repairable? Do cracked throats need to be repaired, on can the drivers still be used OK with cracked throats? Are there replacement throats available?

Many thanks. Doug

You can use them with cracked throats much as you can drive a car with the muffler bouncing on the ground. People do.

It will cost over $100 each to have the $8 throats replaced. The drivers need to be degaussed, disassembled, reassembled and remagnetized.
