Does anyone have any experience with this unit in a domestic system ? I am still researching the possibilities for my mini L 300 system and am thinking this may well be the way to go. Since i am proposing to use a 2380 horn the crosover carries onboard compensation tailored for that horn. This seems to me to be a good thing. Anyone have any thoughts. Thanks

I've used M552 and M553 in various systems here.

The CD compensation works well with certain horn/driver combinations.

Max VHF XO is 5 kHz, tho, not high enough for the slot, but plenty high for 2407H on 1" PT-F95, OASR, or Engebretson waveguide.

I'm sorry, seems I'm always pitching against the slot. It's just too beamy in the vertical for my preference. Run a slot alone, and it's immediately apparent you either need aiming or listening distance....

Good points well made. Odd that jbl would not provide for a uhf tweet especially one that they made in such volume. I'd be prepared to bet that the range could be extended to 10k with a wee mod internally. Is this a current model, the searches I have made for UK sales dont show much at all. If so what is a typical US $ price.
BTW zilch please pm me your address and the bottle of Scotlands Finest will be yours

If you use it in mono mode you highest crossover point is 9K.

I have a pair of 553's and a dual limiter (M712) from an install sitting in my shop. make an offer...

As for mods, find the filter section for that band and divide the cap values by 1/2 to double the xover point - we used to do those mods on the old 525 back in the 80's
