Hello

I've got a H222 coax driver without any crossover network. The drivers are matched and in perfect condition.
I read on datasheets that it is inbuild, but I found nothing - only one driver had a 1uF capacitor at the terminals to the HF.
Can you give me a tip or schematic for the crossover, or is a 1uF cap enough for this application? I've read that crossover is at 2KHz.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Kind regards
Joao

If the LF driver is run full out they might have used the 1 ufd cap for the horn just to add some air to it.

Not sure what the original crossover was, but just my thoughts on that!

Can't hurt it any to run it like that, it might sound wierd if there was more to it.

Let us know how it sounds.

You could also make a crossover using 2nd order HF/LF and see if you can improve on it.

Can you post any pics of the unit. Might be easier to made a educated guess after looking at it.

Hope this helps! Maybe a expert with experience will chime in here!

It is very common for many older coaxial speakers to use a single cap as the crossover. The RCA LC-1A and Electro-Voice 12TRXB are set up that way, for example.
