Hello

I would like to know the difference using a 2218 J ( 16 ohms ) instead of a 2118 H ( 8 ohms ) in the same speakers and passive filter using a 8 ohms speakers .

Would they be audible changes because of those ohms difference ?.

Thank's for info

Gerard

it will change your crossover point , so no don't put a 16 ohm into a crossover that designed for 8ohm driver.

If it's what you have to work with you can modify the crossover and depending how complex and how well you do at figuring out just what they were doing (if all they were doing was splitting frequencys it should be a snap but frequently they equalize as well) you may make it identical. you also may not. The speakers themselfs should sound the same but it will take a little more voltage from your amp to get the same power from the 16 as the 8 if you have an 8 ohm setup and you blew one and you can get a better deal on the 16, maybe you'd be just as well off if you didn't. I hope that made it better not worse.
