speakers were OK, but I really wanted the JBL oak speaker stands...last set of stands went over $100 on eBay.

Classic JBL L110 speakers with damaged woofers - $50

Don't let the fact that I bought these 28 years ago fool you--THEY ROCK! But here is the problem: The foam rubber surrounding the 10" woofers on both units has broken apart. I only replaced these speakers last month because my wife wanted a home theather system to go with our big screen TV. As luck would have it, my final listening session (playing at near concert volume) broke-out the foam ring around both woofers.
I've been told by a local authorized JBL repair facility that it would cost around $200 per speaker to repair them. BUT if you have the ability to get these parts and repair them yourself, you will have yourself a sweet deal. This is a great opportunity for you HI-FI do-it-yourselfers!
