Foam maintenance 4425

I just got hold of a set 4425, tutti originaly. One question; is there a way to take good care of the foam, ie: spray with silicone?
Would anyone advice to buy an aftermarket tweeter unit(titanium type) to have one fjust in case one fails?

1) No. Protect from direct sunlight.

2) Not aftermarket, no. The replacement diaphragm is available from JBL. Unless abused, you'll never need one.
