I have the JBL CS3115, basic twin to the VS3115 (and same driver complement as the SR4735) This is a three way 2226 to the 8 inch M209-8A and then a 2426H.................

Anyway, here is the pdf on slopes and crossover points.........based on the info for the VS3115 in this pdf, where is the 15 recommended to be crossed to the 8 inch?

http://www.jblpro.com/pages/tunings/venue.pdf

I'm reading that they want it crossed at 420, which is what I have used. Given that it only has to survive moderate power most all the time, I am considering crossing a bit lower.

To get further into it, I am going to experiment by removing the integral mid/hi unit and putting on top of my 2245H cabinets. I'm thinking of trying a corssover as low as 220. Any thoughts on an M209 seeing 200 hz?

SIX HUNDRED BABY

Anything below 600 ( the 4735A point) will ripple the paper on those 8" cones. Even the newer thicker paper (haha) M209-8A ( 2119H ) crap out with any bass...

If you are hell bent on doing this, look into changing the 8 to the newer 10 ( 2012H ) this puppy will fit on the baffle and depending on the cabinet vintage, **might** be able to use the same chamber after the baffle hole is enlarged.

This is a quadruple increase in power and much higher sensitivity...remember there *are* 600 watt cones below these...;)
