Hi Guys,
I recently discovered this great site. I am technically, musically unsound.
I have a pair of L80t3, when i hook up to my phase linear 400 amplifier,
the bass is boomy! The bottom is not defined. Even a novice like me can tell. cones need replacing? something with the cross over? What cones to replace them with? Original or? I also do not think that the speakers are blown. So what's the remedy or please recommend a perfect solution. I have $300-$400 to spare.:banghead:

Tell us a little more. How loud are you playing when this happens? Does it happen even at low levels? Are the foam edges around the woofer's cone intact, or are they cracked or even disintegrating? Where are the speakers located in your room? Do you have another amp you can hook up for comparison's sake?

This information will help us help you.

Be careful with the rear ports and how much reinforcement they get from the room?

Welcome aboard,

Keep them off the floor and away from the corners. They don't like alot of boundry reinforcement.
I have my L100t3s sitting on sub cabinets. Used to have them on stands.

Good luck,
