That looks like someone custom made a vertical version of the 4435. The 5351 doesn't exist in the JBL catalog.

The seller is....well...let's just say he's giving you misinformation. Not to say it's not a good thing...I've thought of that myself to save some floor space. It's not an enclosure that was marketed by the factory. Who knows? Maybe it's a prototype that was built by an "insider" at JBL. Those have shown up at times.

Look here for the real deal:

whatever it is, (prototype, homemade, ...) it is not (or is no longer) a 4435.

It -may- be that the 4435 components were used, including a factory crossover, but there's not enough info available in the picture to tell. It might be interesting to learn more of the history of this system. I could see where a person might like this layout better, either re floorspace (as Edgewound mentioned) or if your listening space and habits would lead you to raise stock 4435's up anyway.

Original components include 2234H bass drivers (2), a 2425H (most of 'em) compression driver, a 2344 type horn, and 3135 crossover. A worthy collection of parts, if nothing else. Interesting find. :)
