Who did you get that from??? That's awful can you get the VC out or is it corroded in place?

Hi, Rob.

They came out of a pair of "bargain" 4628B Cabarets abused by rockers. Clearly, they were "fatigued." ;)

All of the other drivers were shot, too, except one 2118H. I thought the magnet was shifted on one of the E145s, but it's just been overdriven so badly the voice coil melted and froze in the gap. Those'll recone nicely.

There' no corrosion, actually, in the 2404Hs, just some discoloration. That's more diaphragm fragments in the gap, there; the voice coils came out intact.

They cleaned up well, and are now playing nicely here with new D16R2405 diaphragms and new horns, still available from JBL parts.

[They'll be going into a pair of Mini 4435s, maybe.... :thmbsup: ]
