Has anyone purchased anything from Kim Girardin (see bottom of http://home.earthlink.net/~etunstal/diy.htm)? He only takes personal check or MO. My test mics are uncalibrated Panasonic capsules. It would be nice to get a calibrated capsule.

Thanks!

I sent him a mail, I wonder how he calibrates a capsule.

Alex.

total would be $34 + s/h $7= $41 (via US post office)
no PayPal. personal check is OK.
the response of the mic being tested is gotten by measuring a speaker with
my reference mic(ACO 7016 1/4" dia capsule) , then measure with the mic
being calibrated. After compensasting for the ref mic's response you can get
the response of the mic being tested.

Hes the real deal and an honorable business man to boot.I have two of his mics a hi and a low spl version that I use with Praxis. The original low spl version failed within the warranty period of one year.I sent it back and recieved an immeadeant replacement mic with no questions asked. All of the necessary data comes with his mics for loading into software based measurement programs.A wise investment and still a good secret for the price.I have never tested his mics against some of the other reference standards that I have.I will do that this winter.Best regards,Oldmics
