Can anyone here tell me the frequency response of an Altec 291 16K (or K16)?
I want to use a low point crossover of 400 hz and will be crossing over to a pair of 2404's on the upper end (at about 6,000 hz).
Also, whta is a good measurement for DCR?
Thanks,
Chris

I am looking at JBL 2482's. If I cross them at 400 they should be fine (I wil build an Edgar Horn that has an Fs of 200 hz). My concern now is the upper crossover point. A 2404 tweeter will go down pretty low on paper but I have heard that they sound best when crossed at 6,000 hz. I think that the 2482 will run out of stem at that point.
Can anyone give me some advice?
Thanks,
Chris

I'm running 2404s at 2.5 kHz (18 dB/octave) in the Minis, and they sound fine to me.
They're going over to Mr. Widget for an audition later this week, so I'll know what a critical ear hears soon.
It's 2405 that needs to be crossed way high (10 kHz) from what I've read here, and my own limited experience with them....
