If a reproduction is an option for you, I could make a set for you. All I need is your old frame or accurate dimensions. PM me if interested

I got on the web to jbl parts and contacted the person supposedly servicing my area. I was told that I needed to contact a local dealer to get parts and was given a couple of numbers. One of the numbers was disconnected and the other was to an extremely unhelpful/unfriendly person. I did end up talking with someone who told me that it was just too much trouble ordering JBL parts. That they had trouble getting repair parts on speakers that were new and in warranty. When I reported this back to the POC that I'd gotten off the JBL site, I was told that I had to go through a dealer as they wouldn't sell a part to me and I was given some long distance telephone numbers to call. I've heard JBL speakers and liked what I heard but this is a major turnoff from actually owning a pair. I was seriously looking at a pair of 4435s that needed grilles and just wanted to find out a price and availability of the part to see what I'd be getting into to see if I wanted the speakers. Unfortunately, I can see that I'd be getting into a can of worms if I needed anything. I'm really surprised at this level of service. I haven't seen anyone here talking about it and yet it's really awful.

We have excellent JBL service here in Germany. ---can't comment on yours.
Back to your problem. Do a search for 4435 plans or drawings. HP did autocad drawings of the whole 4435 incl. grilles. I just finished my DIY grilles and glued the original JBL cloth. Looks original I would say ;)

:bs:

1) Find the JBL Pro part number here:

http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Studio%20Monitor%20Series/4435LR.pdf

It's 61274

2) Go to the miscellanous parts list and see if it's listed:

http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Misc.%20Parts%20List/Misc.%20Parts%20List.pdf

Use pdf "Search" function to see if it's on the list.

It's not, but that doesn't necessarily mean they don't have them.

3) Call JBL Pro Parts, and you'll speak with Carla or Dave, most likely. Give them the part number and description and ask for price and availability. They'll tell you if they can still be ordered.

4) If so, and the price is reasonable, use the webform to order the part(s):

Your local JBL PRO dealer may be able to give you a slightly better price, if they're in stock at JBL....

There's plenty of resources available to you here, as Guido and mbottz suggest, if JBL themselves cannot help you directly. There are very few companies that do as good a job as JBL in supporting discontinued products....
