I am looking foir enough authentic JBL blue grille cloth to re-cover a pair of 4312s.
If you have this, or know of someone who does, please let me know.

There is a company call Acoustone that makes and supplies
all styles of speaker grill cloth. Give them a try and have a sample
book sent to you.
Chances are they make the cloth for JBL.

I've been dealing with Acoustone for years. They carry a variety of grille cloths, but they don't have anything that even comes close to JBL vintage blue cloth.

I shop at the local fabric stores,and if you leave a sample they maybe be able to fing a match,some of the smaller fabric stores pride their self on customer service.

The local electronics shop (King Electronics, Indianapolis) does have dark blue speaker cloth, I remember from a previous visit. I wasn't paying a lot of attention, looking for something else, had to quit looking at the cloth--and it was WAY too dark to tell the exact color, but I'm pretty sure it was a navy. It's unlikely--very unlikely--that it would be a match to JBL blue. However, I will take my 4430 grill and go down--I would say within a week (pretty busy now).

So, is my 4430's (really) DARK NAVY grill--that's JBL blue? I'll take it so.

Update: No, they didn't have the right grill cloth. After explaining to the sales clerk that there was an entire internet group devoted to JBL speakers and some might be interested in THE JBL grill cloth, the fellow seemed interested in finding some to stock. He wanted to know, how wide? He was talking in the 30-32 in. range. So far, it's just talk. We'll see. I'll follow up. It seems a long shot, though. On the other hand, if he ever does stock it....I will be glad to send some out to whomever....

King Electronics is a great locally-owned shop.
