Hello everybody,

I have a pair of XPL200A that I mainly use to listen live show dvd (Pink Floyd,
Scorpion, french signer: Mylène Farmer.......) and I want to had 1 15 inch under each XPL or 18 inch. I need your input to help me make the right chose.
I want something whit a lot of punch ( I won't try to reach 20 HZ...) my listening room is 16'X30' and I'm good in diy. The xpl are amplfied whit a crown
CT-1200. I know that XPL are not the type of speaker to do the kind of job I ask them to do, but they are surprising. I plan to send everything under 100 HZ to the subs.

Thank You,

Robert Audet

Hello Robert

Well how low do you want to go?? I always figure a solid 30Hz will get you useable into the mid 20's. My knee jerk is LE-14's but if you look at a 2214 and an Le-14 in a box program you won't gain all that much ground. That is a big room. You might want to look into either 15" 2235's 2245's or 2242's both 18"s. How much room do you have for the subs??. The larger drivers are going to need bigger boxes. Figure 5-6ft for the 2235 and 8-10 for the 2245/2242.

Saying "Under each XPL."

If that means physically, I don't see it happening other than downfiring, maybe.... :dont-know

For "Punch," I tend to think direct-radiating....

How about a stepped cabinet you can nest the XPL's in and and run the woofers side firing like L7's The XPL's sound better up on the stands anyway IMHO.
