Question #2, I used to play Bass and have a cab I built from JBL specs with a 2245H in it. It has 4 ports that are 4in. Can I use if for a Sub Woofer?

I believe so mate, I saw a picture in a home cinema magazine around the mid 1990’s now if I can take a picture of the guys JBL sub bass array, as he had two custom made JBL subs loaded with 18” JBL sub bass drivers.

I’ll look though the magazines and fish it out for you, take it outside to get some good light on it, and take picture of it, and post hear in the next few hours.:)

Well this was rather quick, the magazine wasn’t to far from me, so you can see the air duct ports on these JBL sub bass cabs are around 6” in diameter, not 4” so I think what you may have there will still perform very well

The image is a little out of focus, but you can see the ports on the left-hand sub bass unit, the guy commented that the low end “thumps you in the chest” and at the time he was running Crown stereo amplifier with 2KW of power on tap, they call him Jack the AV psycho!

All right! I'll have to do a little re-wiring and add a sub amp and re-skin with some nice veneer but I think it will be fine.

I have never used a sub before how are they crossed and wired?

Just load it up with the JBL 2245H you can buy a passive X-over with a 18db octave down at 80Hz, or go with an electronic active X-over unit, the active model will have the edge, JBL make a several models JBL 5235.:)
