Any one know anything about them?

I just picked one up and I know that the were made between 78 and 83 and that they sold new for $500

Are the any good? Any recomendations for a cartridge for that bad boy

Superbee that's a nice vintage Sony TT. Depends on your preamp/receiver being able to match the cartridge output (mm/mc). If you have vintage equipment they were probably set up for mm cartridges. A Shure V15 III might be a good match for the Sony TT and it was from the same time period. The Shure V15 III might run around $200 with a good stylus.
