What do you think about these horns?
Maybe for a 2441?
I have no experience with tractrix horns. That's why I ask.

Moin Guido,
the prize is ok I think. There are not many who offer Tractrix horns.
If you want a tractrix horn then there must also be considered f-low and the design.
DIY is only fun as you can see here, I like to look at the pictures:bouncy:
http://volvotreter.de/roundhorns.htm
I mainly mention Volvotreters site because he has
three articels of DR.BRUCE EDGAR by PERMISSION.
http://volvotreter.de/dl-section.htm
He discusses in "The Edgar Midrange Horn" the lower frequency of a tractrix horn, which might be of interest.

Hi Guido,
The Edgar tractrix horns are fairly beamy, but sound quite nice. For a home stereo I would rather listen to them than most of the horns from JBL. Here in the states they are easily obtained and don't cost all that much... you should finish your current project and then try some out.

He have the 2" 400hz version with Jbl 2450 drivers. From the reports back from Giskard, Ian, Zilch and others he should try out a pair of the 2450SL aquaplas dusted diaphragms... I expect they are pretty costly over there, but perhaps a forum member over here could acquire a pair and ship them... the dusting is reported to significantly reduce any harshness.

The list price is $194 ea. That is $20 ea. more than the 2450 diaphragm. That isn't inexpensive, but a preamp or amplifier upgrade is typically significantly more. You can usually recoup a portion of the cost of the upgrade by selling your old good diaphragms if you are so inclined.
