Described as "unrestored," look quite repairable.
No relation.
The usual caveats.

However, that trim missing at the bottom comment makes me think I've read this description of 4343s before. Anyone else hear a bell ringing?
Sequential serials too! That ought to tweak a few collectors.
It appears that both the woofers & 1 mid (probably both) need new foam surrounds at least. So what kind of $ would one have to shell out to get these units back into playable condition?

Here's a scam auction from China (lots of these appearing every day)copying everything from the original auction. Maybe this is where you saw it.
Note Link may be dead if Ebay pulls it:

I'm sure it's like those barn door pictures of the 4435s and B460s. They just keep circling the globe. :rotfl:
Being a "newby" did I post this question in the wrong place or did my question just get runover?
Another bug on someone's windshield?

$30 - $50 per unit.
You can also do it yourself, if you're good with that kinda stuff....
As an old boss used to tell me... don't screw up more in the morning than you can fix in the afternoon. I think this applies to speaker surrounds as well! Does the foam go on the inside or the outside? Will 3M weatherstriping glue work as well as Elmers?

They sold for $2,370. I don't think it was a LH forum member that got th.em
Well maybe yes maybe no??? The seller indicated no overseas shipping, yet a fellow from China seems to be the high bidder. By the way he has terrible feedback record as well. Does not look good.???:banghead:

John, the last thing the buyer purchased was a purse.... back in March and before that, November 05.... . I think you'll see these back again. Pretty damn good price for a pair of these. Heck, I would've sold my L-300's if I knew I could get a pair for that!
The Guy from China has been bumped so I've got a Second Chance offer. What do you think? They're in need of a lot of TLC plus the pick up & shipping $... but WTF?

Did you go for it? Don't look bad at all to me and the price is ok - too far from Calgary though!

There seems to be something funny with that auction???:blah:

The price is negotiable. Tell the seller you want to see the bid history. Your price should be no more than one minimum increment above the last bid of the third highest bidder.

After sleeping on it I decided to take the plunge and acquire these vintage speakers and restore them back to their former glory. The seller was very helpful with setting me up with a local maker of padded wooden boxes that will be custom made for shipping these speakers. Hopefully a couple of foam surround kits and 2308 Lens plus a piece of veneer is all that they need but you never know until they get here.

Good score! What are you replacing with the 4343's?
I hope you are dealing with the rightful owner of those 4343's? Seems like a bunch of bidders got second chance offers. Be carefull
They'll be replacing a pair of L300's as soon as the 4343's get put back in shape. There shouldn't be any problem with this one because everything has fallen in place so far. Plus between PayPal & VISA if anything does go wrong I'm covered.

I also replaced 300's recently with the 4343's. What a difference! Come to think of it, first replaced stacked Century 100's with L-200's. What a difference. Then, replaced the 200's with 300's. What a difference. Then [with much help from the Forum] Bi-Amped the 4343's. What a d..., well you get the picture. What will you be driving your new loved ones with? I recently replaced my JBL 5234 external crossover with an Ashly [once again, these forum guys] so if you want to bi-amp, I will send you the 5234 for $75. Send me a PM if you like. Congrats again!

Got one too. Seller is in London, England.
I just talked w/ the real seller in Colorado Springs and he is definitly the legitimate seller and the packing company I contracted in Colorado Springs verified this as well. I've had other spoofs over the years originate in England as well.

That is good to hear! They pull a great spoof. Now enjoy.
Just to show how naive these dipsticks are they sent me a second chance bid on the item as well. Welcome to the World Wide Wasteland...www.bs

Interestingly, there is another pair of 4343's for sale in England, just came up. The photos threw me because there's no JBL Blue :biting: and the mid/UHF baffle was turned for horizontal mounting. But they look otherwise restorable, could be a nice get for a British member or Euro who can move them through the chunnell.
