Hello all JBL' ers and altectonians

I just happened to get a couple of old battered Klipsch horn enclosures.
Not the corner horn but the smaller ones. What's the name again. La scala
I think. These have been on the road with a DJ outfit for many years and are
rough enough to be put outside in the garden. I never listened to any Klipsch stuff with the exeption of a corner horn at a club in West Berlin some 25 years ago. Sounded good , but I was more into interested at the local girls at that time. Not that I will ever find enuff time to do any with it.

What would be a good driver for theese enclosures?

Thank's
Klaus

Eminence makes a few that work, JBL E-140, 2220,

Jump into the Klipsch forum and ask around

I tried some JBLs in some LaScalas years ago and decided that they didn't really improve it so I put the cheap Klipsch woofers back in... I think taking a look at the Klipsch forum is a great suggestion.

If you use them as part of a full range system, you'll likely need subs and above it you'll need a horn that really can get down to 500Hz or even lower.

I almost figured that putting a JBL into Klipsch might be * pearls before swine *. Thank's for the input so far . 500 hz tops. you figure. I think about donating the boxes to the local high school. The goofy goobers will probably
call me back in few weeks to show off some real speakers they made.

P.s had they same croud over to tell me that my 4435's are lacking bass.

Thank's again
Klaus

I sold a pair of ugly empty LaScalas on eBay for quite a profit... there are Klipsch nuts just like us JBL nuts... :applaud:

Klaus
there should be a number stamped on the back grain of the box from that you can ascertain when the box was made and what cross over and drivers were installed.
It will be
woofer K33 either B or Por J or E
mid range horn k 401
midrange driver K55 E or M
Tweeter K77 round or square newer ends in M
cross over either AL or AA or Aor AL3
I hope this helps
Regards
Michael

Well Thank you. I was at the local mall today and did listen to some of the Klipsch consumer stuff. Well I did not listen to any JBL consumers stuff, but
I promise and make that in writing to my wife.:

JBL only only only whatever it takes. Thank's everybody.
