Do any of you have any experinces with Crown MT2400 for use in a HiFi system? And even better, anyone tried it with JBL 4435?

I've got a great deal on one and consedering replacing my Carver PXM900 with it, is this a good idea? My problem is that I can't try it before I buy it since it far away from here...

Is the fan too loud for HiFi use?

I've also got a fairly good price of an Dynamic Precsion PA1 amp, anyone know how this one work with 4435?

I don’t know just how loud the fan is in the Crown MT2400.
But, I once had a Crown PT-1 and the fan noise drove me nuts.
So, I would stay away from any amplifier that has a fan in it for HIFI use.

The crown 2400 will make great low end. Its midrange and highs will be OK, but not exactly hi-fi. The fan noise may bother you in a home listening enviroment.

I once heard the 2400 drive Tannoy dual concentric studio monitors, and thought it was good, better than I thought it would be.

The fan is on the louder side of things.

Thanx, I'll stay away from the Crown amp even though it's very cheap :) I'll probably end up with the Dynamic Precision instead then, after all it's an amp that costed 4 times the Crown and hopefully it will sound even better also ;)

Have you considered the Crown K series?
They have a lot of power, great sound and no cooling fan.

I have replaced my PT-1 with a K1 and am very happy with the results.

The reason for consedering the MT2400 was the price of $400. I know the K-series are great so maybe I'll end up with a K1 or K2, but since a K2 costs 4-5 times of the price I could get the MT2400 I'll have to wait a little while :)
