I've dug around, but haven't found what I'm looking for.

Given the Serial Numbers of some speakers...entire speaker enclosures, not drivers...can anybody tell what the year of manufacture was?

Just from curiosity, nothing riding on it.

TIA

Hi Jeff

I believe the rumour is that records like that were lost because of immense water damage throughout the JBL plant due to the big earthquake of ( 1999 ? ) .

And geesh, it looks like there could be ANOTHER disaster out there... Northridge is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of all those wildfires going on in SoCal right now!!

Let's hope there IS a JBL plant after all the smoke clears!!

Regards,
Gordon.

Thanks Earl...Yeah, the first thing I thought of when I heard "Northridge Earthquake" was JBL. Not the first time I've heard of a major company losing all of their records due to disaster.

I believe it was the quake of 94 that JBL lost much of their records on vintage JBL items and this also was when the building that housed Urei got messed up too!
