I just compared the basket and magnet measurements of the G125 and the 2214H.
They seem to be equal. I 'm not shure with the magnet as I have only the pdf file from G125 and an original 2214H.

But the Flux of 2214H is published 1,07T and the one from the G125 0,98T

How could this be? Any answers?

Thank you

Frank measured the G125a and Steve measured the 2214H? ;)

BTW, what is the thickness of the top plate in those two drivers? Sometimes you can measure it externally since it is sandwiched between the magnetic structure and the frame. My guess would be .280"

Ho Ho Ho!

As I (Steve) only have the 2214 I can only measure this. But I asked Frank to measure the G125a.
The 2214 top plate is appr. 7mm. Although I can't deal with this inch, feet, elbow measures this should be appr. 0,28 inch.

No, really Frank is coming up with the G125 measures;)

Guido, I would assume the same dingbat that invented slotted screws and slotted screwdrivers came up with the equally pathetic inches, feet, and yards measurement system.

Giskard, it's only a question with which system you grown up.

I think the metric system is a bit more modern. But who cares as long as we have pocket calculators:)

Today I finally got 2 G125 drivers in.

:banghead:

The top plate is app. 8.5mm thick.
The 2214 top plate is app. 7mm thick.
Thus the flux difference G125=0.98T vs 2214=1.07T

Practically I wouldn't worry as I measure a flux difference of 0.05T with my Teslameter.
I would also not worry too much about this 1 or 1.5mm off centered VC.

So a useless G125 core can be reconed as a great little 2214 :bouncy:

I'll proove it soon with T/S measurements on a G125-8 reconed as 2214H.

The G series top plate is thicker - I guess you would have an offset problem *but* the coil on the 2214 looks to be 3/4" ( my calipers are MIA ).....so not that big of a deal..

Yeah Sub,

as I wrote

I just want to find workarounds for searched but rare drivers.
The real offset would be less than 1mm
