I have a pair of 2461 compression drivers in a pair home built 4333a studio monitors. I would like to replace the 2461s with the 2420. I am wonding if it is possible to simply replace the 2461 diaphrams with the 2420 diaphrams. Also, of course, if that is possible does it give good results?

Thanks,
Penguin

And work as well. Go for it...

Personally, I kept the phenolic in my 3-ways, 2225 2307/2461, 2405 due to the lower cross point needed from the 2225. The aluminum diaphragm lowers the power handling of the 2461 to whatever:o: a 2410 is rated. Since these are PA speakers, I wanted the 50 watt rating of the 2461, I'd rather hear the phenolic hit the phase plug than NOT hear the AL when it cracks...:banghead: BTDT For home use go with the AL, you won't regret it.
:D
