Possible to sub 2431 for 2441 ?

I have an "old school" PA (2441/2380, dual E120/roybins, E155/Keele Wbins) which I like the sound of but would really like to loose some weight (both me and the PA!!). Accepting that a 1.5/2" coupler or a new flare would be called for, would it be feasible to swap the 2441s for 2431 neodyms ?. Would I loose anything in terms of power handling or efficiency. It's kinda hard to figure out if the 2431 is "large format" or "small format" and comparative specs are scanty.
(anyone know of a 12" neodym that will keep up with the old 120?)

JBL calls 3" daiphragm 2431H "Medium" format. Key to them working for you is how low you're asking them to play. 800 Hz is uncertain. JBL uses them at 1.1 kHz, typical, in product.

If you can tolerate larger horns, they play beautifully on 2352, though you have to drill the flange for mounting. JBL says they are "Compatible."

For smaller, consider the PT Waveguide family, but not crossing below 1 kHz. They are high-frequency horns, hence "HF" in the part designations....

As for a neo 12 I have many of the JBL 2262 neo 12 inch speakers that I loaded into my floor monitors. They had been loaded with JBl 2206's going to the 2262 knocked 20 plus pounds off their weight!. I believe the 2262 would sound smoother in place of a E120 for midrange but watt for watt the E120 is going to be about 6db louder than the 2262. The E120 is rated and 103db at one watt and the 2262 is about 97db at one watt. To maintain the systems current mid range output you will most likely need more power. To keep it simple if your using a 100 watts now you would need 400. To gain 3 db you need to double your power.
In my system I use the EV ND6X neo drivers on JBL 2385 horns, they are a 3 inch voice coil driver and they very easily keep up with the two 12 inch speakers below them.
