Hi Guys, I am after some sugestions on which drivers to use in my Double 15' folded horns. I want to go down to 40 HZ and have a huge kick to them.
Mike.

E 140's, or 2226's.

Is it a sealed rear chamber where the woofer fires into throat facing the front of the box? Is it a scoop folding?

If the 2226 is suitable for your horn it would offer tremedous punch in the 100hz to 40hz range! And of course it takes plenty of power, so you can use a hefty amplifier!

Thanks for the reply guys> Scott these things are sealed and the drivers face down toward the bottom of the bin. The horn is very long, I haven't measured the length yet. I think I might try the 2226's, thanks again.

If you look up into the horn, can you see the cones of the drivers? Is this like EAW,s bent horn?

You can use either the E 140 or the 2226!

The 2226 offers lots of low end kick down to 40hz in a properly tuned enclosure.

The E 140 is rated as 3 DB hotter than the 2226 and because it has the aluminum dustcap would give you more upper bass tones as well as good punch. For Bass guitar I tend to think the E 140 would be prefered. They also happen to sound really good for music playback, but technically, it isnt accurate, but they sound good anyway!

On the other hand, the 2226 has a higher power handling and you can use a very hefty amp!

What are you going to use these for?
